    As a leading provider of propane, heating oil and HVAC equipment in the Southern Maryland region, SMO Energy has been firmly committed to ensuring your home comfort and energy needs since 1926. We are currently searching for an Installation Coordinator to join our Equipment Service Department, located in Prince Frederick, MD (Barstow/Calvert County Industrial Park). The Installation Coordinator will effectively and efficiently handle the coordination and communication of installation activities of the Equipment Service Department in a manner that maintains or exceeds customer satisfaction. 



    • Promptly respond to new, prospective and existing customer requests for services or assistance using knowledge of policy and procedures and analytical skills.
    • Develop in-depth technical knowledge of company products and services.
    • Verify and secure all necessary documentation (permits, customer approval, purchase orders, etc.) is in place prior to activating any and all new installations.
    • Team with and assign appropriate field personnel to new installation – giving consideration to their specific skills and abilities.
    • Maintain constant and quality communication with the customer and installation tech to ensure all required parts are ordered and received in a timely manner.
    • Ensure all details and contacts with customers and installation techs are neatly and thoroughly documented.
    • Make any necessary schedule adjustments to ensure all work is completed timely, thoroughly and to the customer’s satisfaction.
    • Work closely with the Installation Manager to ensure post installation issues are proactively identified and addressed.
    • Use a personal computer to access and update customer and inventory information in a variety of databases.
    • Solicit and schedule equipment sales calls to support and actively contribute to marketing goals.
    • Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

    Required Qualifications

    • High school diploma or equivalent
    • Experience with Outlook, Word, and Excel
    • Home heating, propane knowledge desired but not required
    • Strong interpersonal skills, customer service-centric
    • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, including the ability to deal with customer issues of critical importance, in a sensitive but effective manner
    • Able to work with a minimum of supervision, able to prioritize and execute complex scheduling tasks in a multi-tasking, fast paced environment
    • Strong problem solving skills
    • Ability and willingness to work extended hours and weekends as needed 


    • Must have great organizational skills
    • Must have the ability to communicate with various customers and internal employees.
    • Must possess excellent follow-up skills
